What is laminar flow?

Laminar flow, sometimes known as streamline flow, occurs when a liquid flows in parallel layers, with no disruption between the layers. At low velocities the fluid tends to flow without lateral mixing and adjacent layers slide past one another like playing cards. In non-scientific terms laminar flow is ‘smooth' while turbulent flow is ‘rough'.

Silent and reliable!

Using a 7.5 HP Hitachi motor enables the LAPS system to operate quietly and efficiently. The motor supplied requires a three phase electrical supply but using a special inverter we are able to convert the SmartPool® system into a domestic single phase electrical supply. Having the ability to convert the power means the motor is not under any strain and will give many years of reliable service and enjoyment.

Conventional swim jet systems can be unstable and incur too much turbulence and eddying.

The high-volume non-turbulent water flow is what distinguishes our pools from other swim spas and provides the best swim available anywhere. Utilising a customdesigned 16" propeller, our swim current is wider than your body, deeper than your stroke, free of turbulence and bubbles and completely variable in speed.
