The Notika pool is made from a distinctive type of wood that has been
torrefied, that is to say it has been heated to a temperature that
exceeds 200 degrees C, without requiring the use of chemicals. Unlike
wood that has been chemically treated by autoclave, torrefied wood
becomes remarkably resistant to warping and deterioration related to
wear and to the elements. Therefore, the Notika is a pool that is
clearly superior to the models currently available on the market. The
torrefaction of wood makes for a beauiful and solid pool that will stand
the test of time.
Torrefied jack pine is the ideal material for
pools because of its low moisture content, its great dimensional
stability and its shrinking and swelling variation inferior to other
types of wood. All of these characteristics make this wood extremely
resistant to moisture and to climatic changes, which will avoid
potential warping of the pool. In addition, because no chemical
additives are used, the torrefaction process limits the absorption of
moisture as well as the formation of fungus on the wood in a totally
ecological and natural way. Finally, the torrefaction process gives the
wood a deeper and totally homogeneous colour throughout the full
cross-section, giving the Notika an added touch of charm.
FLOATING PANELS 
Floating panels let the wood move naturally (shrinking and swelling)
allowing it to adapt to the exterior conditions with no damage to the
pool.
STURDY AND ADJUSTABLE SECURING SYSTEM 
The top seat is held in place with an easy-assembly steel securing
system embellished by stainless steel decorative hardware. The system
increases pool resistance by securing the top seat to the joiner plate
so that the steel bears the stress, not the wood.
UNMATCHED DURABILITY 
In order to reduce the formation of cracks or fissures that could weaken
the wood and allow moisture penetration, most of the screws are inserted
into metal rather than the wood.
TOP SEAT 
The two parts that make up the sturdy 24cm top seat of the Notika help
reinforce the solidity and enhance the stylish design of the pool. They
are held in place with a steel securing system that is embellished by
stainless steel decorative hardware, adding in this way a distinguished
metallic touch.
EASY INSTALLATION 
Notika's steel structure is installed as easily as any other steel pool.
The sections of the wood facing (panels and boards) are simply inserted
by sliding them into the bottom wall channels or into the metal uprights.
MOISTURE PROTECTION 
The wall panels and the boards covering the uprights are not in contact
with the ground. In order to limit moisture-related problems, the panels
are inserted into a plastic extrusion that is then inserted into the
bottom wall channel, and alongside the uprights and rest on the joiner
plate.
HIGH QUALITY LADDER 
Built from the same beautiful wood as the Notika, the ladder brings a
touch of sophistication with its wide and inviting steps. Furthermore,
the exterior part of the ladder is detachable and can be removed for
added safety between swims.
The oval pool is constructed with concealed lateral supports that are
placed in the ground on the inside of the uprights. This installation is
called the Yard Extender System (Y.E.S.), and was especially designed to
obtain greater available yard space.
