Aquamatic Cover Material
All pool cover fabrics are manufactured and assembled under license by
Aquaflex UK Ltd. Having the cover material cut and prepared in the UK
has an added benefit of quicker manufacturing time and reduced costs. A
cover can be made and dispatched in 24 hours!
The cover fabric used for all UK installations is a (BS3424/5A) 630g/m2
flexible plasticised PVC material. The fabric has a high gloss lacquer
on both sides and contains a high tenacity polyester scrim reinforcing
layer to enhance tear strength and prevent tear propagation. This
lacquered finish will also enable the fabric material to be cleaned
far easier compared with other non-Lacquered fabrics.
Life Expectancy & Chemicals
Aquamatic covers have a life expectancy of approximately 7-10 years and
all have a seven year pro-rated warranty. Apart from UV and wear & tear,
the most common cause for a reduced fabric life span is the incorrect use of
pool chemicals i.e. continuation of high chlorine levels or 'Shock
Chlorine Treatments'. Having an Aquamatic cover substantially
reduces the amount of chemical required to sanatise the pool water
as approximately, two thirds of all organic matter is prevented from
entering the pool. The cover also restricts up to 90% of light from
entering the pool thus, preventing algae from growing!
Normal chlorine levels required with an Aquamatic cover can be reduced
to 1ppm. If a 'shock treatment' is required, we recommend that a
'Non-Chlorine Shock Treatment' (Sodium Monopersulhate) is used.
*All Aqamatic covers can withstand temperatures from -30 / + 70°C

A.S.T.M Safety Certificate
The material used substantially exceeds the ASTM (USA Safety
Requirement) standards set forth for safety covers of the type
manufactured and distributed by this company. The ASTM F-346-91
requirements are as follows:
The cover and fabric installed on the swimming pool filled to its normal
water level shall be capable of supporting weight of 485lbs. This total
weight shall be composed of one 210lb, one 225lb and one 50lb weight,
each distributed over a one square foot area and all three contained
within a three foot radius. The test weights shall be placed at the
centre of the cover system (or at least 4ft, but not exceeding 6ft) from
the edge of the swimming pool. The above test shall not cause damage to
allow any of the test objects or the persons to pass through the cover.
The Aquamatic Cover Systems have, in fact, been independently tested by
two testing agencies including Underwriters Laboratories to exceed the
above listed standard.
