Waterco Wound Sand Filter – for Inground Pools

Our Waterco fibreglass filters embody the latest in fibreglass winding technology. Waterco’s digitally controlled filament winding machines faultlessly wind continuous strands of fibreglass filaments to create a filter vessel which provides refined consistency and superior quality. The use of corrosion-resistant, abrasion-proof and state-of-the-art fabrication techniques has produced a filter capable of standing up to environmental extremes.

Sand filters commonly experience increases and decreases in pressure, but the Waterco fibreglass filter has been shown to withstand significantly more cyclic wear and tear than the vast majority of comparable filters. Waterco are so proud of the durability of their product that they offer a ten-year unconditional tank warranty when installed in residential installations.

The Waterco Sand Filter is available in 500mm, 600mm, 750mm and 900mm, the smallest starting at just under £500.

Waterco Microfine Filter Media

Waterco’s Microfine filter Media offers much finer filtration than other alternatives and are therefore capable of providing outstanding water purity and clarity (filtration below 3 microns). They also require 20 per cent less water for backwashing compared to sand.

Glass Pearls brochure GB

Ultimate water purity

“Whereas other filter media may contain different contaminants, Waterco’s Microfine filter media is chemically inert for the ultimate water purity,”
“In fact, Waterco’s Microfine has been independently lab tested for leaching contaminants and found to be well within Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.”
At only 0.6mm by 0.8mm in size, the narrow particle size of the Glass Pearls enables in-depth superior filtration. The spherical shape also results in low friction levels, also reducing the need to backwash and saving pool owners both time and precious water.

Ultimate safety

Not only that, Microfine Glass Pearls are safe to handle and safe to service, “Unlike crushed glass, Glass Pearls are spherical and do not have sharp edges, making them really safe to use. And if there’s ever a failure of the filter’s laterals and glass Pearls flow into the swimming pool, they pose no risk of injury to swimmers.”

Ultimate time saving

Glass Pearls are also easy to install, enabling a rapid startup of the media filter. Plus its high purity means very little backwashing is required to cleanse the filter media prior to commissioning the filter.

Waterco MultiCyclone 70XL

Waterco’s latest innovation, the MultiCyclone 70XL, is a larger version of their popular MultiCyclone product and the first to be designed specifically for existing and new commercial pool installations. This centrifugal water filtration system is deceptively simple, pre-filtering up to 80% of all incoming dirt, which simultaneously reduces maintenance costs of the main filter and saves water.

The MultiCyclone 70XL utilises 70 hydro cyclones to spin sediment out to the walls of the unit. This sediment then spirals down into a chamber, as the cleansed water spirals upwards and towards your filter system. A clear sight glass allows the owner to visibly monitor the accumulation of sediment and cleaning the unit is as simple as opening the purge valve.

This innovation should be of interest to owners of existing installations and those planning new builds, as the MultiCyclone 70XL can be retro-fitted into any current filtration system, offering energy and maintenance efficiency improvements from the get-go. This unit can handle up to 90 cubic meters per hour and, best of all, contains no moving parts to repair or filter media to clean or replace.

This product comes with a 2-year warranty and is supplied with both imperial and metric quick connect. Available in 12 or 16 hyrdo cyclone versions, and 7 bar PRO version, the MultiCyclone 70XL functions with flow rates from 2.4m³/hr to 30m³/hr and is suitable for swimming pool, water treatment and aquaculture industries.

Waterco Thermoplastic Filter and Aquamite Pump - for Outdoor Pools

Waterco’s combination of thermoplastic filter with their well-known Aquamite pump, already mounted on its base, is a great product for a quick and straightforward install. Simply connect the combined filter and pump to the swimming pool’s system and enjoy the benefits of a sand filter with pump, a 1.5″ Top Mount Multiport Valve, as well as 2.5 Bar pressure rating.

This Waterco model comes in 16″ with a 0.5hp pump, 18″ and 20″ both with 0.75hp pumps, and 22″ with a 1hp pump.

Aquamite Filtration Pump - for Above Ground Pools

Waterco’s most popular pump, the Aquamite’s impeller and diffuser design helps to maximise its hydraulic output while minimising turbulence, leading to shortened run times and reduced energy costs. The body of the pump consists of cutting-edge plastic moulding with a single piece strainer pot, and volute for added strength. Its unique secondary seal works to protect the motor end shield from fluid contact, eliminating the risk of corrosion to the motor end shield.

Aquamite’s Filtration Pumps are available in 0.33hp, 0.5hp, 0.75hp, and 1hp.

Hydrostorm Plus Filtration Pump - for Inground Pools

The impeller and diffuser design on the Hydrostorm pump maximises its hydraulic output while minimising turbulence. This high level of hydraulic efficiency shortens run times and reduces the amount of energy used, leading to lower operating costs.

The main body uses state-of-the-art plastic moulding with a single piece strainer pot and volute for extra strength. What’s more is that the secondary seal protects the motor end shield from any contact with fluid, removing the dangers of corrosion completely.

The Hydrostorm comes in three different sizes; 0.5hp, 1hp or 1.5hp
